Lean on me....When you're not strong.....

Greetings Earthlings! Bad news kids, I have lost my memory card reader.....I'm way bummed cause I took A TON of sweet pictures this week. Stay tuned till next week I guess. /:

This week went by so fast holy cow!!!! I can't believe it! This Saturday I hit my 13 month mark of being a missionary........I could have sworn that I just hit my year mark. -___-  MAKE IT STOP!

No seriously, the week went by so fast I don't remember what happened. So this might be the most boring email I have ever sent.

Hmmmm .....

Sister Connor Missionary Stats:
Months: 13
Companions: 11
Areas: 5
Copies of the Book of Mormon Placed: over 90, ( ha I forgot to keep track there for a while)
Copies of the Book of Mormon Placed so far in Banff: 38
Testimonies born:

See what I did there? ;) Haha there really is no number for the amount of times that I have born my testimony out here. I feel so blessed that I am a part of this gospel and that I know my purpose and my goals. I love my Savior and all that he willingly did for me, all the love. And what I love to do is share that with people. Because, I've found that there are people, just cruising through life. With NO IDEA that Jesus Christ can take away their; sadness, depression, guilt, shame, hurt, pain, everything. In fact he already has. That's the message that us missionaries carry. That Jesus Christ has already suffered, and endured everything, for us. But, there are so many people that are doing nothing with that, and in result it's as if he never did it. I've had it explained to me like this:

Picture that one day you're just walking, and you climb to the top of a very high hill. You take a step and thump, you're at the bottom of a very deep hole. It's too far down for you to get out yourself. So you pull out your cell phone and you call your friend who lives just at the bottom of this hill. You explain the situation and he says, "Dont even worry, I'm dropping everything right now and I'll be there soon with a ladder to get you out!" So you sit there in your hole and you wait. While your friend carries and drags this heavy ladder up the hill. He finally gets there, exhausted, and he puts the ladder down into the hole. You look at it and say, "Hmmm, no thanks, I think I'm just gonna stay down here"

WHAT. Ridiculous I know! In that story the friend represents Jesus Christ, and the ladder is his Atonement. It's already been done, we are sitting in the hole right now and the ladder has been let down. But most of the world is sitting there, ignoring the ladder and choosing to stay in their dark hole.
Ladies and gents. Get out of the hole. Climb the ladder. It's free. And you are going to be the happiest that you've ever been. Let go and turn it all over to your Saviour. He knows exactly how to help you. I promise.

Scripture of the week:
Book of Mormon ALMA 7:10-12

10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being virginprecious and chosen vessel, whshall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the HolGhost, and bring forth sonyea, even the Son of God.
11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him deaththat he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to thflesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.

Ha welp, ponder on that this week friends. :) Happiness IS obtainable.

This week we did a ton of street contacting and door knocking. We've started to explore our area a bit more and went all the way up to the village of Lake Louise. We found a small street of apartments and started to try and find people to teach. We found a few potentials and gave away a few copies of the Book of Mormon, and we're going back again this Thursday :) WE MEET SO MANY PEOPLE. Taught some good lessons this week though so that's good. :)This upcoming week is going to be a busy week! We're going on exchanges twice, so I'll actually only be in my area 3 nights out of the week ha, Should be fun!! Going to Calgary and then to Cochrane to be with the sisters there.

Sorry this email is not too exciting. We'll get em next time kid.

I love you all and miss you SO MUCH. And am so grateful for the support that you all give me! I hope you all have a magical week!

Smile more.

Love you always!

Soo.... I made it to heaven....

Ha or the next best thing! I have been transferred to the Canmore/Banff branch. Where is that you may ask?  Ha it's about an hour and a half out of Calgary way up in the mountains. I forgot my SD card reader so here's some google images of the area haha. We cover a lot of area but focus mostly on the cities of Canmore and Banff.

I get to be surrounded by mountains all day every day! I seriously just stare in wonder at the beauty of the mountains. Ha its funny though that I'm serving here, because it's one of the biggest ski/snowboard towns in Alberta. Sick joke I know. BUT I most definitely will be coming back after the mish to ride. :) I have been made a Sister Training Leader in the mission, we cover a certain amount of other sisters and go on exchanges with them and do trainings and what not. :) Should be fun! We cover all the sisters in the Calgary West stake and the Sisters down in British Columbia, we do a lot of driving ha. But I'm excited for this new adventure! My new companion is Sister Jones from around Logan Utah! She's been on her mission 9 months now.

I went from covering a Stake in Raymond, to covering a Branch in Banff. There are about 15 active members (people who come regularly). Ha so a little different. But hey thats okay, that just means that there is A TON of missionary work to be done. In the 3 days that I have been here me and Sister Jones have given away 9 copies of the book of Mormon. And have met so many fun and interesting people. I love it here! So many different cultures and languages.

AND AND AND, everyone here is my kind of people! They all love the mountains, skiing, snowboarding, chilling etc. Ha literally everyone has on a snow coat and a beanie/tuque. They look like me, act like me, talk like me. I fit right in ha. I feel so blessed to be in this part of the mission. I'm so excited to see what the future holds here. I know that this is where I am needed right now.

Miracle of the week:

Me and Jones were walking to an appointment but had to pass through the hotel/condo part of Canmore. We were walking down a trail and this lady with a bright purple coat was walking up the trail. I was like "Hey! I love your coat!" and then Sister Jones started to try and talk to her. She quickly kept walking and was like "Nope, dont have anytime, bye!" I was like oh ouch. haha But we kept on walking, as missionaries do. Later that day, like literally 2.5 hours we were walking back up that same trail, and THE SAME LADY WITH THE PURPLE COAT was walking down it. I was like "HEYYYYY! So we meet again!" And Sis. Jones asked if we could walk with her. She said yeah sure why not, so we started to walk and talk with her about the book of Mormon. Eventually we were stopped on the sidewalk talking about Christ and she started to tear up, and open up to us about her life. The spirit was SO strong. She said, "Yknow ladies as I was walking away from you I thought if I really needed to hear what you had to say, that fate would make it happen again." I was completely flabbergasted, like my mouth fell open. We ended up giving her a Book of Mormon and testifying on the plan of salvation. She wouldn't give us her number but she took ours and said that she might call us, I really hope that she does. :)

This whole week was full of miracles but that one was my favorite! Thanks for all the love and emails! I miss and love all of you so much! I can't believe time has gone by so fast :(
Its a lot different up here compared to Raymond. I am so thankful for the time I got to spend there and all the members that took me in, I will never forget them. Thank you to all the Raymondites that will get this message. TELL RAYTOWN I LOVE THEM.
I LOV
E BEING A MISSIONARY. Holy cow. Each day gets better and better. Im so thankful for the Gospel and for my Savior.

I hope that you all have a terrific week!!!
Miss you
Love you
Merry Christmas.

Until we meet again Raytown.....

Welp, It's transfer week! And I am being transferred back up to Calgary!! I have spent 4 transfers (almost 6 months) here in Raymond. My feelings are pretty bitter sweet about it. I have met some of the most amazing people here and they have taken such good care of me. And I have seen so many miracles. I am truly so blessed to have spent as long as I did here in this amazing town. I'm excited though for what lies ahead in Calgary. I have missed the city life. I don't know where I will be yet but I will tell you all in my next email :) Thank you to all of the Raymond Alberta stake for all the memories!!

This week was pretty dang good! We had a few of our investigators come to church! Which is a pretty big deal!! Me and Sister Egbert along with our friend Sister Roach did a musical number in Sacrament for the 8th Ward and for Good Sam's. We played a mix of "Come ye thankful people come" and "For the beauty of the Earth" to the tune of "If you could Hie to Kolob." It WAS AWESOME! I played the violin, Egbert the piano, and Sister Roach sang. It was a lot of fun too! I just love the spirit that comes from music, just fills the soul in a way that words cannot. :)

This week Elder Burrows hit his 18 month mark! And so in honor of that of course he burnt a pair of trousers. And since my year mark wasn't too long ago and I hadn't burnt anything yet I burnt a pair of my flats that had gotten pretty worn down.

I dont really have much to say this week sadly. Not too many crazy or funny stories. But I do have some fun pictures? haha Enjoy!

Bahahaha me and Egs found our twins at Sister Robsons. The cocker spaniel and the lamb.

Just call me Sister Connor the Hornet Wrangler.

We went to go do service and then were going to change and go to a lesson right after....I forgot to pack some church shoes and flats..... ha thankfully we had time to run home so I didnt look like a TOTAL scrubby.

Oh yknow just some Russian Book of Mormon handing out in Raymond..... ha.

                                                                          #tallpeopleprobs

I honestly think I grew even more.

Alrighty then enough of that nonsense haha. Before I sign off I want you all to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is Christs Church. There is no doubt in my mind. I want you also to know that I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it works hand in hand WITH the Bible. I know that the heavens aren't closed and that we have a living prophet here on the Earth today. I know that we are all children of God and that we lived with him before this life. And that we can live with him again after this life eternally with our families if we live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you haven't prayed for a while pray, if you haven't read your scriptures for a while read, if you can't remember the last time you went to church, its time to go back. Your Father in Heaven cares about you and wants you to be happy, He's even provided a way. Don't let it go to waste.

I love you all SO MUCH that there are not words to describe it. I miss you, I miss you, I miss you!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!!

Sister Jaynie Connor.

jeepers mister....

Hello Hello Friends!
I never know how to start these things.....

I'm alive and breathing. :) And guess what else? IT SNOWED THIS WEEK! Like the kind of snow that sticks to the ground because there's so much. Thankfully its all gone now haha It warmed back up again and went away. I am not ready for a Canadian Winter again. Ha
I even broke out my trusty ol' tan parka this week. I haven't put tights on yet though, I'll fight that battle as long as I can ha, I probably have another 3 weeks though honestly.

My week was great!

Monday was Pday and me and Egs made a goal to just relax......We're always on the run on our Pdays to travel to different towns or go do certain things. So we decided that we weren't going to do ANYTHING. We emailed, did our grocery shopping, then came home and laid on the couch and just read. As nerdy as that sounds haha, we just don't get a whole lot of time during the week to just sit and read. So we did. And it was glorious. Then we went and helped Sister Roach with her business "Sweet Sheets Canada" (Facebook them), we helped her get caught up on her orders by packing and organizing for her. And because we helped she let us each choose a set of sheets to take! We put them on our bed as soon as we got home ha and they are straight up heavenly. Who knew sheets could make such a difference with how well you sleep. I'm getting the best sleep I've had my whole mission!

Fun Fact! I cut my hair!

It's a lot different from my old hair, which almost reached my waist line, but hey I like it ha and my heads a lot lighter ;)

Tuesday was the coolest! It rained but we taught one of our investigator families. We usually teach them outside, but since it was cold and rainy I texted them and asked if we could do it somewhere else. They replied, "Still come here, we promise you wont be cold." We pulled up to find in the middle of their yard a huge tent set up. :) Made me smile so big. We went inside to find a table and chairs, a block heater, and a kerosene lantern. It was the coolest lesson setting of my whole mission. I just loved that they wanted to meet with us so bad that nothing was going to stop them, not even rain. We taught them the plan of salvation and it went great! We invited them to be baptized as well. The response we got wasn't no, but more of a not yet. So that's way exciting!

Us in the Tent :) Of course we straighten our hair the day it rains haha.

Wednesday I got to go on exchanges with Sister Armstrong! Yep! My companion from the shawnessy ward 3 leg, she's now my Sister Training Leader. It was so fun to just sit and talk with her again. I love her so much. Such an amazing testimony of the Gospel.

Thursday and Friday are kind of a blur haha we must have been super busy if I dont remember what happened ha. I do know that Friday night we went over to the town Stirling, its about 15 km east of Raymond to help with a fundraiser for the Dominican Republic. Me and Sister Egbert were in charge of a game called, "Left, Right, Center" (Google it) We played with a ton of chocolate coins, and had an absolute blast! haha

Saturday and Sunday were General Conference! And I loved it! So many amazing talks. I wish I could put into words how much I loved it. I also loved that the general authorities spoke in their own language! Really shows that the Gospel is ALL OVER the earth, and that it's true. I wont bore you with all the insights that I got from conference because well, they were for me, and not for you ha. Go watch it if you haven't already, you will not be disappointed. I know that Thomas S Monson is a prophet. And I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ back to the earth. MORMON.ORG

http://youtu.be/bewcITSOD7w This video brought tears to my eyes, and those of you who know me know that that doesn't happen very often. I recommend that you watch it.

Well until next time my lovely friends! Thank you for everything that you all do! I enjoy all your emails and letters. Gosh you guys are the best!
